1. Data controller
4youpic ("we", "our") is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy when you use our website and photo management platform.
For questions or to exercise your rights regarding your data, use the contact channel indicated at the end of this page.
2. Data we collect
We collect the data necessary to create and maintain your account and to provide the service: email, name (or business name), password (stored in encrypted form), and, when applicable, payment data processed by our provider (Stripe).
When using the platform: photos and videos you upload, image metadata, face recognition data (embeddings and facial representations generated for search and grouping), gallery comments, and usage data (access, actions in the interface). When your clients use shared galleries or selfie search, we process the images they submit only to provide that functionality, under your responsibility as the owner of the relationship with the client.
3. How we use the data
We use the data to: (a) create and manage your account; (b) store, display, and process your photos and galleries; (c) run face recognition, semantic search, and face grouping as per the product features; (d) allow clients to access galleries and search for photos (e.g., by selfie); (e) process payments and comply with legal and contractual obligations; (f) improve the Service, security, and user experience; (g) send support or service-related communications when necessary.
We do not sell your personal data. Use of data for face recognition and search is only within the Service and in accordance with this policy and the Terms of Use.
4. Sharing
We may share data with: (a) infrastructure and service providers (hosting, email, payment processing such as Stripe), who act under contract and only for authorized purposes; (b) authorities when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
In shared galleries, access to photos and displayed data (e.g., identified faces) is controlled by you, who decides who can access each gallery.
5. Retention
We keep your data while your account is active and, after closure, for as long as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our terms. Face recognition and embedding data are kept in association with your photos; when you delete photos or your account, this data is removed in accordance with our deletion process.
You may request account and associated data deletion through the dashboard or the contact channel.
6. Security
We adopt technical and organizational measures to protect your data (encryption in transit and at rest where applicable, access control, secure development practices). No method of transmission or storage over the internet is 100% secure; in the event of an incident affecting your personal data, we will act in accordance with applicable law and will notify when required.
7. Your rights
Under applicable law (e.g., GDPR and similar regulations), you may have the right to: access, correct, delete, or port your personal data; restrict or object to certain processing; withdraw consent where it is the basis for processing; and lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
To exercise these rights, contact us through the channel indicated on this page. We will respond within the timeframes set by law.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the website and dashboard (session, authentication, preferences, and security). Some cookies are essential; others help us understand product usage and improve the experience. You can set your browser to refuse or limit cookies; note that this may affect how parts of the Service work.
9. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or by notice in the Service, with reasonable advance notice when applicable. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates the version in effect.
